History

1992 –WZND launched a petition campaign to be aired in the BSC. It worked and we are still broadcast there today!

1993 –WZND has won state and national awards through the years. In the fall of 1993 the plans to relocate to the basement of Fell Hall was in full swing, awaiting the fixing of a crack in Fell’s foundation. At the time the various departments at WZND weren’t all found in the same area and were often overcrowded and made it hard to conduct business.

1994 –The move was completed in the spring of 1994 and little by little the transition was completed. WZND is still located in Fell Hall room 007, a much more spacious and better organized use of space. On October 6th of 1994, the station area and one of the studios was dedicated to Ruth Yates at a special ceremony. She was an instructor and the founder of radio at ISU, she passed away in 1993. On hand at the ribbon cutting ceremony was ISU’s President at the time, Thomas Wallace.
